Guest post by glo employee and bride-to-be, Amy Foster.
As my wedding quickly day approaches, I am amazed at how well all of the little details are coming together. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had our fair share of surprises, but overall I am so grateful for all of the wonderful people helping us make our day so special. On that list is glo’s National Makeup Artist, Janeena Billera, who is doing my wedding day makeup as well as makeup on SIX of my bridesmaids!
As with my
engagement pictures makeup, I want my makeup to be soft, romantic and fun but, because I don’t wear a full face of makeup everyday, it’s also very important that I still feel like me. I love looking at inspirational photos of brides with bold red lips and dramatic smoky eyes, and I was tempted to step out of my comfort zone and go all-out glam, but with Janeena’s guidance we found a look that is glamorous but natural - just how I want to look on my big day!
Here are the steps Janeena took to create this look:
Step 2) Next, Janeena filled in my brows using
Brow Powder Duo in brown and the
Dual Brow/Liner Brush which helped frame my face and created structure for the look. Janeena recommends moving right to this step to really set the tone for the entire look.
Step 3) To create a soft smoky eye, Janeena applied two of her favorite new
Eye Shadow shades, vintage and dove, to my crease using the Crease Brush.
Step 4) Next, she applied Eye Shadow in orchid on my lower lid and inner corner of my eyes using the
Eye Blender Brush.
Step 5) Janeena then applied
Liquid Ink Eyeliner to really open up my eyes and added a slight wing for a playful touch- which might be my favorite part of the look!
Step 6) Next, Janeena applied a generous coat of
Water Resistant Mascara (a must for emotional brides!) on my upper and lower lashes.
Step 7) To add some color to my cheeks, Janeena applied
Blush is sweet using the
Blush Brush. Step 8) To add a glowing highlight, Janeena applied
Shimmer Brick in luster to upper cheek bone and inner corner of my eyes.
Step 9) Lastly, Janeena applied a layer of my favorite
Gloss in peony to finish the look
Seeing myself in my bridal makeup is just another reminder that my big day is almost here! I can’t wait to see how everything from my dress and veil to hair and makeup comes together!
