    Absolute must have!

    I have never used this line of makeup before and was chosen to do the Modern Matte Challenge. When I put it on I noticed it was smooth and blended very well. It was extremely soft! My husband couldn’t get over the fact that it wasn’t sticky! I wore it for 12 hours and it still looked and felt great! No shine or oily skin! I got several compliments on my skin! Love this product!!

    Great Matte Foundation

    I took part in the Modern Matte Foundation Challenge. I received the 4C and 2N shades to test. This is a great matte medium to full coverage foundation. It wore well all day without the need to blot. It wasn’t heavy on my combo skin. For reference I generally wear Glo tinted primer in Medium and Glo pressed base in Natural Medium for everyday. This Modern Matte foundation is great when wanting more coverage. I recommend!

    Love it!

    I just finished using Glo’s Modern Matte Foundation and I’m impressed. The coverage was really good — medium-to-full without looking cakey — and the texture was smooth and easy to apply and blend. It kept my skin shine-free all day, controlling oil better than most foundations I’ve tried. Overall a great matte formula that feels comfortable and lasts!

    A very happy addition to my complexion toolkit

    I’m not a usual foundation wearer, but have found myself foundation-curious as I navigate postpartum skin and some new sun spots; I’ve been craving a bit more coverage and polish in my day to day look. However, I’ve been very wary of foundation because I had a bad preconception of foundation as cakey, heavy, and suffocating to my skin. But true to its name, Glo Modern Matte Foundation proves to be an entirely new kind of product. It’s lightweight and silky, feels genuinely nourishing to my skin, and, something I really appreciate, is buildable in pigment — allowing me to control how much coverage I get from one application to the next.

    I have normal to dry skin and live in a dry climate (hello Colorado winter!). I was worried the foundation would dry me out more since it’s oil controlling, but I didn’t find that to be the case. I made sure to hydrate my skin really well before using HA-Revive Hyaluronic Mist + Hyaluronic Hydrator and then used the Mattifying Primer. I also played around with mixing the Phyto-Active Conditioning Oil Drops to the foundation when I applied it. I don’t think this is necessary at all, but I loved the feel and it also allowed me to further fine-tune the opacity of the foundation to my taste.

    I have both 1N and 2N and, at this point in the year (little to no natural tan), I found myself having to mix the two to get my correct shade. I like that I can truly customize my shade this way, but it is something to note that neither shade was perfect…

    Modern Matte MUST HAVE!

    When I was chosen to participate in the Modern Matte Foundation challenge, I was thrilled as I have been a loyal customer of Glo for 15+ years and have always preferred a matte finish to any foundation. I prefer to keep my makeup coverage on the lighter side, but as I am now into my 50's with rosacea and a few sun spots, I do like to wear something that will help to even out my skin tone and blur the imperfections. I wore this over my standard routine of eye cream, serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. The foundation went on smoothly and blended well with no issues of pilling or fighting my previous products which is a huge win! I did use a light dusting of Glo's Perfecting Powder after application as it's part of my normal routine but honestly I don't know that I needed it. The foundation maintained its claim for a "seamless, second-skin finish" all day and never caked around my nose or chin, which was amazing as everything does there, even when my coverage is light. It felt good on the skin and honestly, if it weren't for participating in the challenge, I would've forgotten I was even wearing foundation. I will most definitely continue to use this and am thankful for the opportunity to test it out!
