Pretty Persuasion Holiday Makeup Tutorial

The holidays are all about traditions. We love the classic reds and golds in holiday makeup (stay tuned for our classic holiday makeup tutorial!), but sometimes it’s fun to break from tradition. If your style is a little edgy, this is the look for you.

Alter Ego Collection

The Alter Ego holiday collection has everything you need to recreate this look, including our limited edition Persuasion Eye Palette. This versatile collection of shadows has a fun mix of neutrals and bolds.

This eye makeup absolutely glows! Our senior makeup artist, Janeena Billera, started with a deep purple shadow on the outer half of the lid and a rose gold shadow on the inner half. She bridged the gap with a matte caramel in the crease and yellow gold in the center of the lid.

Adding gold to the center of the lid makes the eyes pop and adds intense dimension. Janeena used the same technique in our lilac makeup tutorial.

Since we went for a bold eye statement, we kept the cheeks and lips light with Cream Blush in firstlove, Precision Lip Pencil in soulmate and Lipstick in organza.

Get the Look

1. Apply Cream Stay Shadow Stick in prelude to the lid from lashline to brown bone.
2. Using the Persuasion Eye Palette, stamp mystic on the outer half of the lid with the Angled Definer Brush.
3. Apply aura with the same brush on the inner half of the lid, fusing together the colors by lightly tapping.
4. Blend dolce through crease with the Crease Shader Brush.
5. Blend the eyes with the Eye Blender Brush.
6. Add halo to the center of the lid with the Full Camouflage Brush
7. Blend dolce along the lower lashline using the Crease Shader Brush.
8. Apply mystic to the same area but closer to the lashes using the Detail Shader Brush.
9. Line the upper lashline with your favorite eyeliner, creating a soft flick at the tail.
10. Coat your lashes with your favorite mascara.
11. Apply Cream Blush in firstlove to the apples of the cheeks with the mini Texture Brush. Pat in with your fingers.
12. Line the lips with Precision Lip Pencil in soulmate.
13. Top with Lipstick in organza.
