Guest post by Brittany and Lindsay with Patterns & Pops
Patterns & Pops is so excited to partner with glo throughout the next week to bring you styling tips and fashion inspiration to help you transition your look for summer! As an online clothing boutique specializing in unique, bright and fun pieces (all for less than $100!) we couldn’t help but fall in love with glo’s new Suede Matte Collection. Follow along as we show you how to style our favorite Suede Matte shades with fun, flirty looks.
Red Lipstick is really the cherry on top of any outfit ;) If you want to make a statement, a red lip can really take your look to the next level. Whether you are fair skinned or more olive toned, a true red, like glo minerals Suede Matte Crayon in bombshell (pictured) is going to pair well with your complexion. Since this red delivers such a bold lip, we recommend wearing it with outfits that contain jewel tones (ruby, emerald, deep blue, etc) or your basic blacks and whites, all of which we have at Patterns & Pops!
For this particular styled shoot, we chose Patterns & Pops pieces with various shades of navy and creamy whites. We are LOVING rompers this season as they are a complete outfit all on their own. This particular Patterns & Pops romper (as seen on Brittany) has a fun, feathered pattern with a fairly simple front silhouette, but just wait until you check out the back!!
The multiple straps coming from the high neckline down to the waist give a backless effect, but you’ll notice there is actually a separate elastic piece that fits like a tube top so you can still wear a bra, hallelujah!! This is a great festival look as it is light and airy with a boho feel, perfect for hot summer days outside. The bright yellow headband, from one of our favorite Australian companies, Top Knot Girl, is a great embellishment to the muted tones of the outfit - after all, don’t we all need a little pattern AND a pop?? ;)
Similar, but also very different is Lindsay’s ensemble - Patterns & Pops’ navy and cream tie dye harem pants and a simple Free People bandeau. Harem pants are becoming more and more popular this summer. A lot of people love the idea (I mean… they’re like cute pajama pants you can wear in public, who DOESN’T like that idea!?!) but then they think - can I pull this off??? The answer is yes.
Pair with a simple white or cream tank or tee and a pair of wedges and you’re done. They are meant to have a loose fit and be a tad more masculine than the normal skinny jean of today’s fashion world, embrace it!!
