Combination Skin Type
Combination Skin is really two skin types in one with additional oil production in the t-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and dryness in the cheek area. It can be referred to as balanced or normal since it isn't excessively oily or dry. Many consider this skin type ideal since it's more balanced, but clients may have a difficult time finding their perfect combination skin care regiment because the varied oil production levels of the face can create complexity. Finding a moisturizer can often be a challenge and it may not be just one choice. Products that have an oil controlling aspect may not be well suited for the drier cheek area, but products that are too heavy or rich may not necessarily be appropriate for overall face application and can lead to a shiny t-zone.
Also, heat and humidity tend to increase oil production. Someone with combination skin may have a slightly oilier t-zone and drier cheeks for most of the year and experience an excessively oily t-zone and normalized oil production in the cheek area once summer comes around. Regardless of the time of year, at Glo Skin Beauty you’ll see an overall theme of light to medium weight products for this skin type and incorporating spot or area treatment items.
